Intensive Care Unit and Coronary Care Unit

Fairfield ICU is a Level 4 Intensive Care Unit caring for critically ill patients including medical, surgical, orthopaedic, and plastic surgery cases. The unit provides multi-organ support, including mechanical ventilation, dialysis, and cardiovascular support. Care is delivered by a multidisciplinary, Intensivist-led team committed to mutual respect, open communication, and patient-centred care.

The ICU is staffed by a dedicated medical team led by Intensivists, supported by Registrars and Resident Medical Officers (RMO), with a specialist available 24/7. Nursing is overseen by the Nursing Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Educator.

Special Services

The ICU facilitates total parenteral nutrition through a multidisciplinary approach and coordinates organ and tissue donation in accordance with NSW Health directives.
